Willie Pewitt, from Detroit, Michigan grew up playing competitive golf from an early age. After spending some years playing Willie turned his focus to the coaching side of golf and always had an interest in helping people improve and enjoy golf.

Willie quickly became a well-respected teaching professional in the Detroit and surrounding area and over a short period of time he was named the head professional at Links at Gateway Golf Club in Romulus, Michigan.

Willie is the founder and Lead golf instructor at the WPGolfacademy and has 2 locations Links at Gateway Golf Course in Romulus, Michigan and at the Let’s Get It Fitness Studio in Dearborn, Michigan. Here Willie continued to develop his knowledge and coaching skills while working with players of various levels including players from young elite amateurs up to experienced tournament players. 

Golf 101 - The Basics

A program specifically tailored to female and male golfers who are new to golf, or who have played golf before and want to brush up on the basics.  Golf 101 includes five, one-hour lessons that gradually introduce you to the game.  From getting familiar with the club house and the golf course to hitting a tee shot, this program will have you ready to play and stimulate your interest to learn more. Max 8 students per class, a group is considered 2 or more people that sign up for the class, 


Program fee includes range balls. Fee:$225 per person 

Golf 201 - Let's Play

Designed for novice to intermediate golfers with at least two years of experience, or graduates of the Golf 101 program, Let’s Play includes five, 90 minute lessons that will elevate your golf skill level through instruction and on-course play.  The first 45 minutes of each class will include instruction at the practice area.  The second 45 minutes will be spent playing up to three holes on the course. 

Program fee includes range balls, on-course fee: $325  

Short Game Schools


Did you know that almost 70% of shots in one round of golf are played from within 100 yards?  If you’re looking to improve your game and lower your scores, then our Short Game School is the place to start.  The series includes three, 60 minute classes that occur once per week and cover short game drills, chipping strategy, bunker play, long putts, and on-course application.
